Papanasini Ekadashi

The Ekadashi of the bright fortnight of Phalguna is widely known as Amalaki Ekadashi, when the amla tree is worshipped because Lord Vishnu is believed to dwell in it. Devotees fast, offer worship under or near the tree and use amla in the observance. The day falls shortly before Holi.
