about
Vivah Panchami celebrates the wedding of Rama and Sita on the fifth day of the bright half of Margashira. Temples hold wedding rituals for the deities, and the largest celebrations are at Janakpur and across Mithila.
The day marks the wedding of Rama and Sita. At Janakpur in Nepal the wedding is re-enacted over several days with a symbolic procession and ceremonies drawn from the Ramcharitmanas, while in other places devotees mainly worship Rama and Sita.
