Ishti

Ishti is a kind of Vedic sacrifice. The best known is the Darsapurnamasa, a pair of rites tied to the new moon and the full moon, each performed over two days with four priests: the Adhvaryu, Agnidhra, Hotri and Brahman. The calendar marks Ishti on the Pratipada that follows Amavasya and Purnima.
