About the event
The Long Now of Us is a major solo exhibition by Jagannath Panda, one of India’s most acclaimed contemporary artists, presented at Lalit Kala Akademi Regional Centre, Bhubaneswar. This exhibition brings together a rich body of work shaped over nearly three decades of practice, reflecting Panda’s ongoing dialogue between regional tradition and global contemporary culture.
Jagannath Panda, born in 1970 in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, is internationally recognised for his innovative approach to painting, sculpture, and mixed-media work. Trained in India and at the Royal College of Art in London, his practice blends traditional Odia motifs and materials with urban imagery and narrative complexity. His works interrogate themes such as modern life, ecology, and cultural transformation, often fusing mythological symbols with the visual language of the contemporary city. Panda’s work has been exhibited widely in India and abroad and is held in major public and private collections.
