Against the Rush of Consuming Culture:Why Reflection Still Matters

In March, ParibhaAsha hosted a unique cultural event. When we say ‘cultural’, we don’t mean it in a grand sense of the term. It wasn’t about a stage with dance or music performances, panel discussions, and the like. The team gathered a group of regular folks from all walks of life for an experiential tour (not a heritage walk) of temples and ancient structures they have grown up around. There were discussions on every aspect, no matter how intricate. There was room for discussion and interpretation. None of us claimed anything to be the absolute truth. When it comes to culture, nothing can be considered absolute truth; it’s all interpretation.
